The 112 Annual Banquet was attended by 560 members and guess. Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson entertained the crowd with humorous stories. Chairman of the Board, Ike Akbari welcomed the new board members. The audience included elected city, county and state officials as well as local industry and business leaders.
Master of ceremonies, Paul Chargois kept the event moving everyone was headed home before 9:00 p.m. The Greater Port Arthur Chamber is already into the 2012 year with plans for Cayman Night and Golden Triangle Days in Austin for 2013.
Chairman, Ike Akbari, met with United States Senator John Cornyn to discuss the XL Pipeline and what steps can be taken to get this economically import project started. Following that meeting the Senator introduced legislation in an attempt to get the pipeline permitted.
