Community & Economic Development Division

• Ambassadors Committee: serves as an active communication link between the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce and its members. Ambassadors serve the chamber by supporting membership services through personal contact with Chamber members and participation in membership events such as ribbon cutting ceremonies, Annual Banquet, and other fundraising events.

  
  

• Education Committee: works to help ensure that Port Arthur has a thriving business community by maximizing the relationship between the business and educational sectors by continuing an ongoing collaborative working relationship with the Port Arthur Independent School District.

• Team City Committee: assists in organizing, planning, and preparing for economic development for the Port Arthur area. They also find ways for local business to stay updated on issues, regulations, training programs, and resources.

• Blue Santa Committee: assists the Port Arthur Police Department with fundraising monetary and new toy donations for distribution to needy children of the City of Port Arthur. Media events and actual visits from Blue Santa himself are done months in advance before Christmas.

• Cayman Night in Port Arthur Committee: works to promote and organize an annual Cayman Fest where Caymanians and Cayman wanna-be's from across the U.S. and Cayman attend year after year. Entertainment line-up includes The OutRigger Band, and directly from Cayman, Barefoot Man and Band. For more information, visit www.caymannight.com.

• Business Expo Committee: works to prepare and promote for the Southeast Texas Business Expo, co-hosted along with the Beaumont Chamber; where attendees are provided the opportunity to network and view first-hand the products and services available from area Chamber member businesses.
  

• Workforce Development: works with the business community to interface current and future workforce needs with representatives of all aspects of the educational community. Needs and possible solutions are addressed that will effectively prepare our future workforce.
