The 2010 Small Buisness of the Year Award nomination process is now open! All nominations are due to the Chamber before close of business on Friday, May 7, 2010, to be considered for the award program.
To nominate a business, select one of the links below. The recipient of the Small Business of the Year Award from this Chamber will be recognized at an awards ceremony (information to be released at a later date).
The award has been presented annually since 1985, and honors the achievements of the small business and the spirit of entrepreneurship.

Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce
Jerry Bellot was in business with a friend and in 1967, opened Jerry’s Automotive & Front End.
He has served as the National President of Automotive Service Association, and served as a member and past President of the following organizations: Cajun French Music Association, Port Arthur Noon Sertoma, and past member of the Lions Club, and Metal Detector Club.

In 2009, Bellot was awarded the Small Business of the Year Award by the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce in honor of his achievements as a small businessperson, and spirit of entrepreneurship. Following this award, Bellot was honored at the Chamber’s 2010 Annual Banquet with the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to him by Texas Secretary of State Esperanza “Hope” Andrade.
Bellot enjoys riding his many motorcycles; playing Cajun music, as he has for over 42 years even though he was told he had no ear for music; plays the accordion and guitar; collects classic cars and motorcycles; and still owns the first car and motorcycle he ever purchased.
Jerry is married to Erline Bellot for 42 years and has three sons and six grandchildren.
